Fundamentals of Population Health Informatics

Description

This course will provide students with an introduction to the fundamentals of population health informatics, its history, relevantconcepts and related informatics domains. The course will further describe the fundamentals of computing, data, information and knowledgeprinciples, information architecture of population health systems and role of data standards in the development of population health informationsystems. Students will be introduced to the concepts of big data, cloud computing and other emerging technological innovations that cancontribute to the improvement of population health. The course will also provide students with a knowledge of issues related to privacy, securityand confidentiality related to health data collection, storage, and its processing.
