Designs, Concepts, and Methods in Public Health Research

Description

The course introduces students to both quantitative and qualitative research methods, principles, theory and measures commonly used in public health; to understand the different study designs, their strengths and limitations as well as their threats to validity and causal inferences; to develop research questions and hypotheses as well as to identify the data collection methods appropriate for such research questions. In addition, the course provides students with an overview of systems science thinking and systems models that promote understanding of the complexity of various public health issues.
