CHSS 634 - Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to Sexual and Reproductive Health Research (3 cr)
Community Health and Social SciencesSPH - CUNY School of Public Health
Course Title
Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to Sexual and Reproductive Health Research
Catalog Description
This course aims to expand students’ understanding of the reproductive justice (RJ) framework and its application in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) research and practice. Through the course readings, assessments, and discussions we highlight distinct approaches to SRH research across a range of populations, including vulnerable and marginalized groups. Engaging students in a critical analysis of diverse approaches to SRH research – past and contemporary – that either do or do not utilize an RJ framework will equip them to apply this understanding and sensibility in their future work in the field of SRH.
