Description
This course will provide a framework for understanding both the theory and practice of advancing global health. Internationalsystems, bilateral and multilateral initiatives and globalization trends and their effect on population health will be studied from a comparativeperspective across countries and regions. The course aims at promoting an understanding the biomedical, socioeconomic and political effects ofthe globalization process on population health. During the semester, students will examine the emerging field of global health from aninterdisciplinary perspective, by addressing the main health issues experienced by mothers and children worldwide.
