This course will compare and contrast different traditions concerning the nature of science; examine how these theories relate to the history and development of public health. The course discussions will emphasize the implications of the application of different scientific perspectives to public health practice today in the context of urban, social, health equity, cultural, economic and political influences on public health policies and actions, as well as the school’s mission and values.
